Cause Laminator is not hot enough.
Action Adjust laminator temperature.

Cause Laminator not closed.
Action Check that cassette toggles are vertical and locked into position.

Cause Laminate not loaded properly.
Action Open top and bottom laminate cassettes. Reload laminate per page 2-5 in Atlantek's TCP Printer Operator's Guide. Close cassette. Press the OVERLAY button.

Cause Faulty laminate.
Action Open cassette, replace damaged laminate with undamaged laminate as described on page 2-5 in Atlantek's TCP Printer Operator's Guide. Close cassette. Press the OVERLAY button.

Cause Laminate jam/laminate wrapped around heater.
Action Remove jammed laminate from heated rollers being careful not to cut or gouge heated rollers in any way.
MEDIA light continues flashing after laminate is loaded, and/or "Laminate out" message
Cause Laminate jam.
Action Check that laminate fed through cutter into flex guides and that cutter blade retracted after last cut.

Cause Out of laminate.
Action Replace with new roll of ribbon.

Cause Laminate loading problem.
Action Laminate loaded wrong. Open cassette, reload laminate per page 2-5 in the Media Handling section of Atlantek's TCP Printer Operator's Guide. Close cassette.
Action Cassette is closed on laminate - open cassette, adjust laminate and align with edge of cassette, close cassette. Press OVERLAY button.
POWER light and MEDIA light on, card does not exit, "Media jam" message
Cause Top or bottom laminate is jammed between the cassette and the cutter - the card will be in the flip station.
Action Open front cover, remove both jammed cassettes. Pull about 2 inches of laminate from cassette and cut squarely and cleanly. Load laminate per Media Handling instructions on page 2-5 of Atlantek's TCP Printer Operator's Guide. Do not remove printed card. Close cover, printer will initialize, ALARM light will start flashing. When ALARM light stops flashing, card will advance and exit.

Cause Flex guide (top or bottom) has laminate jammed.
Action Removing and Installing flex guides (see also pg. 2-7 in Atlantek's TCP Printer Operator's Guide):

To remove flex guides open cover and remove guide and laminate jam. Pull back the retaining spring, at the same time pulling the flex guide straight out toward you and away from transfer roller.

To install flex guides pull back the retaining spring, at the same time pushing the flex guide straight back towards the printer. Slide the black channel of flex guide along the retaining spring while the curved section of the guide is resting on - not under - cutter's laminate guide. Once tab is locked, guide is in the correct operating position. Press OVERLAY button.

Finally, close cover, printer will initialize. ALARM light will start flashing. After ALARM stops flashing, card will advance and exit.
POWER light and MEDIA light on, printer will not print, "Media jam" message
Cause Laminate improperly loaded into cassettes.
Action Open cover, remove both cassettes, reload laminate per Media Handling instructions on page 2-5 of Atlantek's TCP Printer Operator's Guide. Close cover, laminate will feed into transfer rollers. ALARM light will start flashing. After ALARM stops flashing, printer is ready.

Cause Top or bottom laminate cassettes not secured.
Action Open cover, check that laminate cassette toggles are in a vertical position and locked into place per Media Handling instructions on page 2-5 of Atlantek's TCP Printer Operator's Guide. Laminate will feed into transfer rollers. ALARM light will start flashing. After ALARM light stops flashing, printer is ready.

Cause Top or bottom flex guide improperly installed.
Action See above section on removing and installing flex guides.
POWER light and MEDIA light on, laminate has run out
Cause Replace laminate.
Action Open front cover, remove empty laminate cassettes. Reload per instructions on page 2-5 in Atlantek's TCP Printer Operator's Guide. Make sure cassette toggles are vertical and locked into position. Close cover, printer will initialize. ALARM light will flash. After ALARM stops flashing printer is ready to print.
MEDIA light and ALARM light on, poor lamination on card
Cause Laminate wrapped around top or bottom heated roller.
Action Open cover, remove top cassette, rotate heat shield to gain access to thumb screws. Turn thumb screws counter clockwise to open laminator. Do not use any sharp tools to remove laminate as it could damage heated roller surface. Close laminator and secure both thumb screws finger tight. Reposition heat shield and lock top cassette into place.

Cause Laminator not fully closed.
Action Open cover, remove top cassette, rotate heat shield to gain access to thumb screws. Turn thumb screws clockwise finger tight to lock laminator. Reposition heat shield and lock top cassette into place.

Cause Heated rollers not at correct temperature.
Action Wait 2 minutes and reprint. If same results, call Technician.

Cause Damaged heated rollers.
Action Replace heated rollers. Call Technician.
"Heater error" message
Cause Heated rollers not at correct temperature.
Action Call Technician.

Cause Heater or heater PCB is bad.
Action Replace heater or heater PCB.
Card is pushed under, not between, nip rollers
Cause Lift cam is bent.
Action Replace with new lift cam.

Cause Lift cam is at the wrong angle.
Action Readjust cam.
Card is pushed over, not between, nip rollers
Cause Eject angle is set wrong.
Action Using ID Print, a printer software tool, adjust eject angle to be within a range of -4 and +4. Each increment is approximately 3 degrees.
POWER light on, card is printed, but does not exit printer
Cause Card jammed in laminate station.
Action Open cover, remove top cassette, if card jam is located after heated rollers, remove card and proceed. If located within laminator, rotate heat shield to access thumb screws. Turn thumb screws counter clockwise to open laminator. Remove jammed card, if it can be dislodged. If card is wrapped around heated roller, call Technician.
"Laminator is warming up" message
Cause Laminator has not reached temperature.
Action ALARM light will be flashing. Allow laminator to reach full temperature - may take three to five minutes. When laminator is fully heated, ALARM light will stop flashing. "Laminator is warming up" message will disappear from screen. If card stopped before laminating, card will automatically continue through laminator and exit printer.
"Media jam" message
Cause Laminate out of position or didn't advance properly causing jam.
Action May be hot - let cool. Open cover, remove cassettes. Completely remove jammed laminate and/or card from laminating station, being careful not to cut or gouge heated rollers in any way.

Reload media per page 2-5 in the Media Handling section of Atlantek's TCP Printer Operator's Guide. Make sure laminate cassette toggles are vertical and locked into position. Close cover, printer will initialize. ALARM light will start flashing.

After ALARM stops flashing printer is ready to print.
Laminate is hanging off edge of card
Cause O-Rings need cleaning.
Flex guides need cleaning.
Action Technician should remove flex guides and O-rings and clean as required.
"Laminate out" message
Cause Laminate out.
Action Reload new laminate per page 2-5 in the Media Handling section of Atlantek's TCP Printer Operator's Guide.

Cause Laminate jam.
Action Locate and clear jam. Reload laminate per Media Handling instructions in Atlantek's TCP Printer Operator's Guide.
